Board of Governors
Board of Governors members meet at different times throughout the league year to help establish rules and guidelines for the league. They assist in promoting the APA Pool League and are available to help players with questions about rules or the league in general.

Members of the Board of Governors are selected from current APA members and may include both 8-ball and 9-ball players. At this time the APA of Pinellas has nine members of the Board of Governors, selected by the Local League Office.
Function of the Board of Governors
The Board of Governors is the body that makes changes to the bylaws and helps to resolve disputes. Feel free to talk to any one of the board members if you have a suggestion that you think will benefit the league.

Board members are not responsible for, nor can they influence, a player's skill level. Please direct all questions about players' handicaps to the league office.
BOG Meetings
When an incident is reported in written form that deals with any of the above mentioned concerns, a meeting is called and arranged at a time and place that facilitates the attendance of the majority of the members.
Procedure Followed
Copies of the written reports are given to each Board member for review. After the Board members have had an opportunity to review the reports, a round-robin type discussion is held in which each member of the Board expresses their opinions, concerns and suggestions regarding the incident being reviewed. The discussions continue until a course of action is agreed upon, not by the majority of the members, but by all who are present.
Enforcement of the Board's Decisions
The course of action that is chosen by the Board is enforced by League Management and is usually documented in letters to each party involved. Not everyone who writes a report of an incident will receive a letter; normally the Board of Governors specifies who is to receive these letters.
Higher Authority
As outlined on page 9 of the Team Manual, the League Operator represents a higher authority than the BOG. Therefore, the League Operator may overrule any decision made by the Board. The APA has asked League Operators to uphold the findings of the BOG unless they are in violation of APA League rules and policies.
Appeal of BOG Decisions
Normally, the Board of Governors will only revisit a decision if clear new evidence is presented.
