APA Pinellas County – Local Bylaws

(Last updated 5/1/2010)
Like most local leagues, the APA of Pinellas has adopted numerous bylaws throughout the years in order to address specific situations or to enhance our players' league experience.

Pinellas bylaws are unique to our league and do not necessarily reflect the rules and regulations of other leagues, or those of the National APA.

Team Captains should be diligent about learning these bylaws. Check this page often (see the "Last updated" date above) in the event new bylaws are added. All players are encouraged to become familiar with these bylaws. The majority of the bylaws have been added in order to make your time spent in the APA a more rewarding and enjoyable experience.

Continuous Play
When the 8-ball in the last game has been made, or the last point in 9-ball has been made, the team that is required to put up the next player has 2 minutes to announce its pick.

The opposing team captain then has 2 minutes to determine the competing player. Once both players have been selected, the game will start within 2 minutes. (Total time between matches: 6 minutes.)

Failure to observe this rule can result in a forfeit. For a forfeit to be declared, both team captains (or their representatives) must observe a clock together for 2 minutes.
