Fun Day Tournament Coming Up
If you've never experienced a Fun Day Tournament, now's your chance to see what all the fuss is about.Each year Mike and Carol Konak host a Fun Day / Player Appreciation Tournament to thank the players for participating in the league. All players are invited to attend this (very quirky!) tournament.
This year the Fun Day Tournament will be held on Saturday, July 12 at CM's Place Billiards. The game will be "Crazy Cue" (8-ball with a twist) and the entry fee is a mere $5, which will be added to the prize fund. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. and the tournament starts at 10:00 a.m.

First Grand Slam of the Session
Congratulations to Jeff Feldman, our first Grand Slam of the Summer Session! In just a few short weeks, Jeff completed all requirements of the Grand Slam by making the 8 on the break, the 9 on the break, an 8 break and run and a 9 break and run within one session. His fantastic accomplishment has earned him a spot in the Grand Slam Hall of Fame. Way to go, Jeff!
Get Ready for the Sunshine Shootout
Now you can take a dream vacation AND shoot for big bucks in the first-annual Sunshine Shootout!This huge tournament will take place at Club Med in Port St. Lucie, Florida from September 24 - 28, 2008, and will feature team, doubles, and singles competitions. A $40,000.00 total cash payout will be up for grabs (based on full brackets in each format).
The best part? The APA has negotiated special rates with Club Med for our members during this tournament. Club Med is an all-inclusive resort (meals, beverages, amenities), so bring the whole family and make it a vacation! (You don't have to stay at Club Med in order to participate in the tournament.)
Players may participate in more than one format (singles, doubles, team). Slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so sign up early.
Top prize for the team competition (if all 128 brackets are filled) is $8,000.00, with additional payouts to 2nd -16th-place teams. Top prize for Singles competition is $800.00 (based on 32 players) with additional payouts to 2nd - 4th-place. If more players participate, the prize amount will go up. The top Doubles team will receive $1,000.00 and 2nd - 4th-place teams will also be paid based on a full bracket of 32. If more Doubles teams participate, the prize amount will go up.
